Through Glass就是slipknot乐队主唱早期在stone sour乐队当主唱的时候唱的一首非常柔情的歌、、、


就象乐队名字代表的那种酒般如此醉人（一份威士忌并冲入橘子水以混入酸味），Stone Sour的专辑可以说也象莫洛托夫鸡尾酒——一份让人兴奋的纯摇滚音乐元素并冲入大量旋律。“我们的音乐是一种旋律化的硬摇滚，充满着安逸和自发性。”Stone Sour的主唱Corey Taylor说道，“Stone Sour给我一个实践创作歌词的机会，我一直喜欢创作些歌词，但Slipknot不怎么可能给我这个机会”。在继承了Taylor和Root组成的其他乐队风格里的重型元素，作为Stone Sour音乐的根基——虽然乐队表演的时候不再戴Slipknot式的面具，同时在音乐中还呈现一种更为内省同时更为亲切的音乐质地。

Stone Sour最初由Taylor和鼓手Joel Ekman组建于1992年，乐队可以说是长达10年所酝酿的那坚定的信念、耐心和创造性的表现能力的结晶。Taylor的挚友——贝斯手Shawn Economaki在乐队成立之初加入了阵容。起初Stone Sour并没有明确的音乐发展方向，只知道创作好的歌曲，并与很多吉他手合作过在一些俱乐部里搞演出，有时这些吉他手和乐队就只做一次合作便散了。而Stone Sour的转折点在1995年，那年吉他手Jim Root——Jim而后还和Corey Taylor加入了Slipknot，得到机会和Stone Sour一起尝试合作。这对乐队来说是一个决定性时刻，因为从此标志着Stone Sour完整形成自己的阵容，成为一个新的整体。5年来Stone Sour没对自己的音乐风格有过特别的思考，仅以他们自己的**来做音乐，或者说，始终把音乐基于一种硬摇滚风格、优美的旋律以及情感的起伏上。

但到1997年Taylor对Stone Sour渐渐失去兴趣，不再把精力放在乐队上，最后离开了Stone Sour加入到Slipknot，他的离开也让原先Stone Sour的成员各奔东西。 Joel自己建立了个家庭，而Jim在Corey加入Slipknot后一年也加入了他们的行列。Shawn继续给Shawn做经理——于是Stone Sour一手打造的传奇故事便由此搁浅。

也许看上去是这样，但——

到2000年吉他手Josh Rand，还有Corey的另一个老朋友，也是他的一位合作者，加上以前Stone Sour的队员，用Corey曾经致力创作的一些歌打动了他。于是这群人共同一起度过了一年半创作新歌，并最终再次组成了现在的Stone Sour。乐队齐整后，决定复兴曾经一手打造如此高质量的音乐技艺以及老Stone Sour原汁原味的音乐根基，因此很自然，只有招募原先Stone Sour的老队员才能成功做到以上的几点。就在乐队最初成立的十年之后、乐队第一次登台表演的六年之后，Stone Sour的原班人马再次聚集Des Moines。待人员齐整后就提出了为乐队挑个名字的问题——最后筛选了不少点子（如Project X,Superego,Closure等等），名字还是很快地定夺下来。由于许多成员对于几年前的共同表演生活依然念念不忘，Stone Sour这个名字就又这么回来了。

就象Taylor所说的，“这次我们聚在一起已有点不同了，我们对尝试着与主流抗争不再后怕。我们准备去真实地创作我们自己想要做的音乐，不论别人是否喜欢。我也依然坚信我们能出相当优秀的专辑”。如今Stone Sour惊人地收有各种风格的歌曲，从带给人无限痛苦的“Bother”——这首单曲还收录于拥有白金销量的蜘蛛人原声大碟“Music From and Inspired By”，还有“Get Inside”，极具冲击力的音乐，以Taylor的意见，Stone Sour的音乐以最纯真的形式表达粗糙却相当动人。“有了这个乐队，我们就能做出优秀的硬摇滚歌曲。”
